Protecting Your Family and Child’s Health: Tips for Reducing Exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA)
What is Bisphenol A (BPA) and what can you do to protect your family and kid’s health and minimize exposure to it? According to a recent Enviroblog, BPA is a toxics plastic chemical which may be have negative health effects for pregnant women and children.
How do you limit your family’s exposure to BPA? The Environmental Working Group offers health tips for safe plastic and container usage: 1) limiting canned goods exposure (most cans contain BPA in the lining), 2) avoiding polycarbonate plastics marked with #7 (including many hard plastic water bottles) in favor of stainless steel and 3) choose glass or specially marked baby bottles that don’t leach BPA.
