Go Mambo! Pacific Northwest Final Week!
Thursday, August 28th, 2008
What an amazing six weeks!! We’ve just wrapped up our final day of the 2008 Northwest tour, and are looking back at our great stops around Oregon and Washington. The tour staff (all of whom are native Pacific Northwesterner’s) are once again reminded why we are so proud to call the Pacific Northwest home! This region is filled with so many great people who care about each other and their surroundings – it’s very inspiring! We got to see so many different terrains – the desert, beach, city, countryside, etc – making for an exciting tour of meeting people where the live, work and play to spread the word about the great natural and organic products on board with us this year! We spent the first half of our week in Seattle, and returned to Portland to visit our last few Whole Foods Markets. Our van will now make the trek to the New England area to begin another six weeks of spreading the Mambo cheer! We had many happy Mambo recipients in the Northwest, and there are sure to be thousands more in the New England area!
We’re just wrapping up another successful week in Seattle! We were welcomed to Washington with gorgeous weather and happy Mambo recipients. While our week was filled with many store demos, we still took some time for great LOHAS stops in many Seattle areas. Our biggest stop was for the Seattle Hemp Fest, bringing snacks and smiles to the huge crowds braving the heat to attend the 17th annual Fest. We also checked out the Fremont District Sunday Market, and various Yoga & Pilates studios in many neighborhoods. As we wrap up the fifth week of our tour, it’s hard to believe we only have one more week to pass around the Mambo cheer! We’ll be spending the first half of our week in the Seattle area once again, finishing up our tour where it all started – back in Portland, Oregon. Only five more Mambo days left in the Northwest, so make sure you have a Mambo bag (or two!) in hand before the van heads to New England for the last leg of the ’08 tour!
With a brief stop in Tigard for a Whole Foods demo, we were off to the Oregon Coast for a weekend of beach volleyball fun! On the way out of town, we stopped by some local gyms and found other active Portlanders who were happy recipients of Mambo cheer! Seaside brought lots of sand, wind and a bit of rain – but luckily us Mambo’ers are prepared for the elements! We met thousands of visitors of the nation’s largest amateur volleyball tournament, which just wrapped up its 27th year of operation! Our team was glad to be a part of this Oregon Coast tradition, and the visitors and players enjoyed their Mambo snacks! After a thorough de-sanding of the Mambo van and supplies, we were ready for two more days of demos all over Portland and Vancouver. We were also thankful for the sunshine and nice weather after our blustery weekend at the coast! We’re going to take a rest for a couple days and then start up a week of Seattle Mambo stops, complete with a drop-in at the Hemp Fest, as well as other local attractions. Keep your eye out for us, Seattle!
Portland welcomed us back into town this week with some great weather and friendly folks! We didn’t stick around long at the beginning of the week so we could make it over to Bend to pass out some healthy snacks to the Drake Park Munch ‘n Music goers on Thursday evening. After returning to Portland, we met hundreds of shoppers at the Portland Farmers Market, who were all excited about their Mambo bags! We were also invited to a Portland Fit club run, to help their runners and walkers re-fuel after their morning miles on Saturday. We ended our eventful week at some familiar Whole Foods markets in Northwest Portland, and are going to take a few days to rest up before another Portland week. We will also make a trip to Seaside next weekend for their annual Beach Volleyball tournament. There’s only three weeks left for us in the Northwest, so if you haven’t been Mambo’d track us down at one of our stops!
