Cranberry Granita with Spiced Whipped Cream

Looking for a whole new kind of dessert? This refreshing granita is just the ticket to impress your family or guests. Frozen fruit flavor is matched with a perfect spiced whip cream to make it memorable.


  • 1 1/2 cups R.W. Knudsen® Just Cranberry™ Juice
  • 1 1/2 cups orange juice with most pulp
  • 6 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice divided
  • 3/4 cup cold whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons organic agave nectar
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely grated orange peel
  • Fresh orange peel strips, for garnish


  1. COMBINE cranberry juice, orange juice, honey and 1/8 teaspoon allspice in medium bowl, stirring until honey is dissolved.
  2. Pour in 8-inch baking pan.
  3. Freeze until edges begin to set, about 1 hour.
  4. Stir and mash icy areas with fork.
  5. Freeze until mixture is slushy, about 1 hour.
  6. Stir and mash with fork.
  7. Freeze, without stirring, until firm, about 3 hours.
  8. SCRAPE surface of granita with fork until entire mixture is small ice crystals.
  9. Cover and freeze until ready to serve.
  10. BEAT cream, agave nectar, orange peel and remaining 1/8 teaspoon allspice in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until stiff peaks form.
  11. Scoop granita into stemmed glasses.
  12. Top with whipped cream. Garnish with orange peel, if desired.
  13. Serve immediately.
