Meatless Meatballs with Swedish Sauce

  • 1 package Nate’s Meatless Meatballs
  • 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter  
  • 3 Tbsp. flour  
  • ⅛ tsp. nutmeg  
  • ¼ tsp. allspice  
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup sour cream  
  • ¼ tsp. onion powder  
  • ½ tsp. salt  
  • 1½ cups water


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F
  2. Melt 3 Tbsp. butter in a medium saucepan, add 1 package of Nate’s Meatless Meatballs, and sauté
  3. Remove Meatless Meatballs from the butter and place on a broiler pan and put in the oven until crispy
  4. In a saucepan melt the other 3 Tbsp. of butter, and add flour to create a roux. Cook roux until it has a medium brown color being careful not to scald
  5. Add heavy cream and water to roux, whisk until smooth, and let simmer
  6. Whisk in all dry spices, and cook sauce until it thickens, for about 10 minutes
  7. Add sour cream and stir
  8. Remove Meatless Meatballs from the oven, place in a serving dish and pour sauce over the top
