Homemade Caramel Sauce

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. corn syrup
- 1/2 pint organic heavy cream
Directions:
- In a stainless sauce pot over medium-high, add sugar, corn syrup and water. Bring to boil.
- Carefully watch until mixture starts to change color. Whisk often while cooking.
- When it becomes a dark mahogany color, add cream at once, whisk to combine then turn off heat.
- Cool liquid and store in the refrigerator.
could you use agave nectar in place of the corn syrup?
never tried this caramel sauce but I am not a lover of butter so was glad to see this recipe
