Cook rice according to instructions. Stir in dried cranberries. In a separate pan, saute butter, onion and brown rice syrup on medium for five minutes. Reduce heat to low, cook slowly for 15 minutes or until onions are caramelized. Add onions to the rice and cranberries. Stir in orange zest.
